DAYSIM Header File Keyword: Output Units/ sensor_file_unit

DAYSIM can calculate annual illuminance and irradiance time series. By default all outputs are in illuminances. There are two ways to set the output units of the annual illuminance file(s) (*.ill). 

(1) Using the <output_units> keyword the unit for all sensor all sensor points can be switched from illuminance to irradiance.

Syntax

output_units <integrer n>

        n = 1 solar irradiance (W/m2)

        n = 2 illumiance (lux) [default]

(2) In case you want to set different sensors to different units, use the <sensor_file_unit> keyword. In this case the unit of all sensors has to be set individually.

Syntax

sensor_file_unit 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2

        n = 0 illuminance (lux)

        n = 2 solar irradiance (W/m2)

In this case the sensor file has 25 sensors in it. The first 10 sensors are illuminance sensors followed by 15 irradiance sensors.
